"It gave me a will to live. I came across YR & started watching it given i belong to the LGBTQA ++ community and in Mumbai, India it’s difficult to be completely open so i wanted an escape. Watching the show changed my life i could relate to Wille bcz i do have anxiety and i also didn’t really wanna take over my parents business which i did tell them eventually. I came Out to my parents & few friends. I met a community from across the world and i actually found another Indian who was a massive YR fan & we have become best of frnds ever since. She lives in my city and we just met and connected over YR… It gave me a reason to live when things in my life got really bad beginning of 2024 where i was on a verge to end everything... but some how i kept going back to YR. it kept me on an edge where instead of darkness there was some hope some light. I decided to fight and then i decided to see Omar on his first tour in London in October 2024 and i flew In from India. The fact that i had bought tickets in May for the October show kept me alive telling myself i wanna see him once before anything ever happened... i managed to go back to London for the February 2025 show and that was like the universe telling me I am surviving a darkness and it gave me a little light which was Edvin walking out on stage during Simon’s song. I felt this is why i fought to live fought that darkness a little everyday. I couldnt believe u was in that audience who witnessed that i think I cried more after the show with the overwhelmed feeling than i have cried in a long time
I still am fighting the darkness it doesn’t go away that easily but I have hope & i fight because i really wanna visit Sweden to visit the YR sets get lucky to meet Edvin & Omar.. always believe & work hard hope and fight harder and thats what I’m doing... for someone on the outside of the YR community this seems like an obsession to a show or towards the actors but for me it’s a life line i feel I may never let go of this and i dont want to. It’s an anchor for when things are bad it’s just light that says it’s okay you will get through this and u will come out stronger on the other side on the one year anniversary of the series finale i got tattooed with Edvin & Omar on myself with the words from Simon’s Song that say “nåt som jag kommer minnas live utt”
